The latest trends

Germany’s traditional cuisine is constantly evolving. Vegan alternatives to regional dishes are appearing more frequently on menus, winemakers are successfully experimenting with non-alcoholic wines, and traditional bread continues to grow beyond its roughly 3,000 varieties. You’ll get an especially enjoyable overview at the many weekly markets, increasingly turning into street-food events – another trend in culinary Germany.

Europe’s Borders Go Digital

The EU’s Entry-Exit System (EES) is a digital border-control system for the Schengen area. It replaces traditional passport stamps with electronic records for non-EU travellers entering or leaving participating countries for short stays of up to 90 days within 180 days. The system aims to improve border security, reduce waiting times, and make travel monitoring more transparent.
